I am trying to trace my USA family connections on my Grandfathers side (Patrick Fitz'k 1873 - 1937), they were originally from Sheeptown, Newry, Co Down.
Some of my great Uncles/Aunts emigrated to USA - Thomas/Tom Fitzpatrick lived in Chicago, deceased 1958 approx. ?
His sister May Fitzpatrick Reavey, USA but not sure if Chicago or elsewhere in USA
Other siblings remained in Ireland - Edward, James, Owen, Joseph & Alice.
My grandfathers parents were Thomas Fitzpatrick 1837 - 1908 , Sheeptown married to Ann Duffey Fitzpatrick
Married on 8/5/1867

Hi Jo,

Mary Fitzpatrick Reavey was married in Newry in 1900. She and Francis Reavey has five children (Anna, Francis, Thomas, Patrick Joseph and Edmund). They emigrated to the USA in 1906/07 and lived in Spencer, Worcester, Massachusetts. Mary died in 1960 and her husband Francis in 1952. They are buried at a RC graveyard in Spencer, see:

I'll see if I can find out what happened to their children and her brother Thomas.

Thomas Fitzpatrick emigrated to the USA ca. 1905. I can find him in 1930 and 1940 living in Chicago. He seems to have married late in life to Mary (unknown surname so far). He worked on the railways as a baggage/mail handler. He died in Chicago in 1958 and is buried at Holy Sepulchre, Worth, Illinois. I'll see if I can figure out what he was doing between 1905 and 1930.
